You are like a battered woman. You will buy into this war as well and the next and the next because deep down you believe in your man. Eventually he will change after all. |
Where do you get your information from? Or is your paranoid ideology self-sufficient in the propaganda department?
Armed confrontation is on the breeze. So is putting the squeeze on their economy. Both are bad. The obvious solution would be to isolate Iran since it doesn't want to play ball. But that would be far more harmful to the people than the government.
I will agree with mises that war with Iran appears to be a secret fetish of the West, something not spoken of but perpetually kept "on the table." However, I've read Turkey's agreement with Iran, and it's total garbage. It's a single page. The core of the agreement is a single short paragraph. It's a token "agreement" that doesn't address any of the problems, a get out of jail free card for a rogue state that has petroleum bargaining power with its neighbors.
That said, I don't have answers. Don't vote me into office to deal with this problem. |

It would almost be nice if the countries involved (imo mainly Iran and Israel) could just agree to an old-fashioned conventional war that didn't involve the citizenry.
Fight it out in the desert away from population centers, and have mercy on the losing state.

You. My belief is that you will believe in your government no matter what. I derived that opinion from this quote...

| I am inclined to believe the US, most of the European Union, the UN, and the IAEA. |
..even though it's only been a matter of years since the US govt straight up lied to start another war in the middle east. Not sure why you found my point so hard to understand. |

Most of the EU, UN, and IAEA supported the Iraq war? China and Russia, too?
I think you're delusional, chief. |

The US Gov't may have lied to you, but I'm pretty sure it didn't lie to everyone.
Are you somehow in a position to be entitled to know what's up with US governmental strategic policy? |

This is nonsense. Who in the administration has called for strikes on Iran?
Now you can read Presidents' minds? Give me a break. |
THW, were you born within the past couple of years?

BO said on Sept. 4, 2007: "Hit Iran where it hurts." "Americans need to come together to confront the challenge posed by Iran. The war in Iraq has strengthened Iran which poses for us the greatest strategic challenge in the Middle East in a generation. Iran supports violent groups and sectarians in Iraq. Iran fuels terror and extremism in the Middle East. Iran is making progress on a nuclear program in defiance of the international community. Iran calls for Israel to be wiped off the map." He follows this up by calling for a pre-emptive military strike on Iran.
On Aug. 3, 2007, speaking at Princeton's Woodrow Wilson School of the International School for Scholars, BO called for a US attack on Pakistan, more troops in Afghanistan, and unilateral attacks on Iran and Pakistan, and strengthening the US military and intelligence apparatus across the planet. |
|
He was campaigning in the primaries. And as for the second quote, I call bullshit. BO never simply called for US unilateral attacks on Iran. |

Do you read this forum, or do you only hear what you want to hear?
Blah blah, conspiracy, blah blah, Israel, blah blah, war mongering, blah blah, Israeli war conspiracy, blah blah.
I enjoy your posts, generally, but this is a new low. |
