Anyone know anything about Flight Attendant hogwans?

What do they teach.. how do they work?

Any money in it?

I'm also wondering if an adult hogwan is subject to all same myriad of rules that hogan for primary and secondary age students is subject to.

There are a couple of them Naver is your friend for finding them.
Don't know much about them other than what I saw in an advert that was placed in a Korean air "inflight" magazine a few years ago.

They were a 3 month program and focused on language, rules, international laws (in regards to air crews), simulated cabins (with duties practiced until they could do them in their sleep) and pretty much anything else that a pretty, young, Korean woman would need to know to land a job with a Korean airline (like beauty tips).

lol I knew someone who went to one of those.
She was still no nearer to her dream because she applied too late (27). Korean air only takes nubile beauty queens, looks are everything.

Next: President Hogwon.
Send little Minsu if you want him to be a world leader. Extra classes on how to lie through your teeth and embezzle millions.

I take it this was slightly tongue in cheek. In my experience, Koreanair and other Asian carriers take young women who can be made 'presentable' with the aid of sexy uniform and a load of makeup. As opposed to Western airlines, who go out of their way to employ people who will scare you into not ordering any extra drinks.

A lot of them are scams basically. Girls by the thousands apply but maybe under 30 are selected based primarily on their appearance. Trust me, the girl can be a dolt and get in if she is good looking enough meanwhile girls pays millions of won in hagwons when the director of the school or hiring commitee in Asiana or KA should just tell them to stop wasting their time. Employers can be picky about looks when the job requires little mental ability and attracts a large pool of applicants for whatever reason.

Hey, I've seen one of those schools in Sinchon.

I act on "Surprise", and we went to one of these schools to film. We had a scene that took place in an airplane. And at this school, they have a classroom where (shockingly) it looks just like the inside of an airplane. There was also a cart with empty bottles where the students practice how to serve drinks.

That episode was horrible. It was just like on old Star Trek episodes. When there's turbulence, everyone just starts moving their bodies back in forth in an exaggerated way.

Couldn't help you with your question, O.P., but thanks for bringing back a funny memory.

Is it just me or does anyone else think that guy from AVA that they interviewed looks really creepy? He's like something right out of a Tim Burton movie.

A few years ago there was one in Busan in Seomyeon I used to see advertising vacancies for on Dave's. As one might expect, it had plenty of applications from guys who wanted to teach classes of hot women, surprise, and it accordingly treated their teachers shabbily as they were so expendable.

But it's a job, and why not try? There are ESL textbooks tailored to the flight industry. I don't know what sort of English levels you could expect. When I fly in Korea the stewardesses' English is not bad, and probably it is so competitive to get these jobs that the airlines can have both hot and fluent.

This is a load of crap, there's quite a few that are not so attractive.

Are looks a big part? Yes, but not everything. I know some really pretty girls that got rejected from Korean air

I have a friend who is a flight attendant for a Korean airline and she told me her airline likes to hire women who are a bit less than perfect. The rationale is, customers will feel more comfortable approaching a more humble looking girl than a runway model (in both senses!).

I fly Korean air a lot and I've noticed that if you took away the hairspray and makeup, some of the FAs would be average-looking when not at work.
