|
|
I am a teacher here on an E2 visa. I want to open up an online jewelry maing shop, using Etsy (www.etsy.com). I know that i have to add the second 'job' (i'd be mosly doing it for fun, but some small money would potentially come in) on my E-2 visa by filling out the paperwork, but it would be a self-employed job. I believe that with the paperwork, you need an employer or something to sign off for you, don't you?
Anyone know anything about this? |

Honestly I would not even waste my time applying. The other job with E-2 is usually just another teaching job. Besides this other job of making jewelery does not have an another physical address. If you opened a store front here in Korea I could understand registering. I think if you register for this you will just be opening a can of worms.
My advice is make your jewelry, try to keep the money you make stateside (meaning do not have the money coming here to a korean account), and be careful with the shipping. |

Quite simply, there is no proof that you're working a second job. Your second job won't even be in Korea right? Don't waste your time.
I earn money online and there is no way the Korean government could find out about it. I would guess, though I'm uncertain, that this is not a violation of my visa since I'm using U.S. addresses for all of this. |

From what i understand, the purpose of Visas is for tax information. How would this work for taxes, then? I am a canadian citizen, and am not currently paying any taxes at all in canada as i am not making any money there. If i start sending money to my canadian account, would this then mean i'd have to start paying canadian taxes again? Def. want to avoid that. |

Use a bank account in your home country. Don't sweat it. It has nothing to do with this country.
Be sure to declare the income in your home country though! |

so, if i'm declaring income to canada, does this mean that i'll have to pay taxes every year then? I'm not interested in doing this and making the maybe 200$ year if it means i have to pay 2000$ taxes or something. As things stand, i'm not paying anything.
Just checking. I don't know a lot about taxes, either here or in Canada. |
