Well they are currently drawing down and they'll be out by the end of August I believe. Not too bad if you ask me. |

They're already saying that the increased violence will keep them longer. Right now, they're saying a month. I have some ocean front property in Regina to sell you BB. |

Also, the drawdown doesn't include 1) majority of contractors or 2) rapid response soldiers for terrorism events and "consultants" (50k in total). The general soldiers are already out of the cities and on bases in the desert. The date is a political fiction. Surprised? |

Well our presence in Iraq doesn't really bother me to be honest with you. We've seen some success there and things improved greatly once Gates became the Sec. of Defense. And I have a hunch that when we do pull out, violence will jump up again (just see what's happened with our troop level droping down to a little over 100K) and Iraq will become a dictatorship down the road. Alll that money and effort will have gone to waste.
Afghanistan is just a complete waste of resources with no chance of success no matter what we do or how many people we have there. That's where we should be pulling out of ASAP. |

Of course it will. The US handed control of the country to the Iranians. The Americans didn't understand ethnicity, demographics and democracy. The resistance to this will be fierce. This is no reason to stay. It was a reason not to invade. If you want to keep the two groups (and Kurds) from killing each other you'll have to stay forever. |

You'll need a new forum subcategory to inventory Obama's broken promises.
But war never is simple. Too many human lives swing on this pendulum. |

Is he the president? I can't tell. He never gives interviews, takes no questions, assumes no responsibility and merely reads from his teleprompter. He has distanced himself from the oil spill. It is as if the country is without a leader. He is way too focused on message, media discipline and image. America needs an actual leader right now. He needs to act like a man. Like he believes in something. The wars can't be won. The banksters won re: financial reform. He really needs to man the frack up and act right.
A company I used to work for had a CEO like this. He was new, came with in a lot of publicity, gave speeches about synergy and organizational culture and spent his evenings at elite gatherings on the expense card. He had no meaningful impact on anything. He didn't last. Neither will Barry. Yes, this is not on topic. |

He's no different than any other President in that regard. Just watch Bush in the 2000 debates and see how little of what he said became reality. |

You mean...they're both the same?
Who'da thunk it! |

Anyway, there are not so many Iraqis left living - the job of subjugating, herding and controlling has become much easier than what it was. |

If you don't start showing more Hope that Change will eventually happen, I'm afraid you will have to be relocated to a FEMA Disaster Relief site. |

What?? He's been interviewed on 60 minutes at least once, and there have been interviews of him on other programs. He has had more press conferences than Bush did in the same amount of time AND yes he does take questions. He has also admitted making mistakes (a form of taking responsability), something Bush certainly never did.

I haven't really been following the oil spill, but I know he's been more pro-active than the previous administration was towards anything else. And financial reform isn't dead yet.

I have a strong hunch he will win in 2012. The GOP is just a disaster that is getting torn in at least 2 different directions. Be interesting to see if they can get a viable candidate (and no, Mitt doesn't have a shot). |

The lack of media coverage of soldiers funerals and similar is extremely vile. These pointless wars have destroyed so many lives. |

Minutes after her husband's casket arrived at the Reno airport, Katherine Cathey fell onto the flag. When 2nd Lt. James Cathey left for Iraq, he wrote a letter to Katherine that read, in part, "there are no words to describe how much I love you, and will miss you. I will also promise you one thing: I will be home. I have a wife and a new baby to take care of, and you guys are my world." |
you ... all of you who ever vote for any of the fascist-socialist Democrats or any of the communist Republicans ... you are responsible for this ... |
