The only thing you don't need is the consular interview (unless of course you have overstayed your visa at some point).

| In fact, if you are flexible about when you want to return, or if you want to return in a hurry, you can always find schools that want to hire you last minute. If you have your documents ready, they'll fly you over the next day. Then they apply for your visa while you're in Korea and send you to Japan for a visa run. If you've already done one contract in Korea, then you don't need the interview. You can get the visa in Japan. |

OP, i'm in your exact position. i will be going home to do the whole process again, sans the interview.
Troglodyte: that's all correct, yes. but you really need to have all your documents ready. i sent away for my criminal background check two weeks ago, and my next contract starts in september.
i guess what i'm saying is, you really need to be on top of your documents to start a new contract at the drop of a hat. |

| There's another possibility that wouldn't require the CRC. If you haven't finished your first job yet, you can recontract with the same company OR try to transfer to another school near the very end. I've heard of 2 people transferring their visa at almost the end of their contract to avoid having to get another visa. |

This requires that the contracts (not necessarily work) be concurrent (no gap between them).

If you don't have concurrent contracts, should you cash out your pension plan or just let it sit? |

don't tell anyone, but i'm cashing that pension out so quick it's going to send sparks flyin' between the north and the south of this peninsula.

with a one-way ticket home it is entirely up to you.
I expect that if the exchange rate is good when you leave, take it.. if the rate is bad.. leave it.

| Contract ends June 30th and heading home. Pension is not a problem as it goes directly into my bank account after going to the Korean Pension office. How do I get my final pay when it is required to leave the country by the 14 days (immi just said that last week) and payday is not until the 17th of July? |

Be careful with that 14 days....
You MUST leave or extend (your ARC) before the expiry of your ARC.
The 14 day thing is ONLY if you finish work (complete your contract early or quit before your ARC expires) and have MORE THAN 14 days remaining on your ARC.
Your final pay should be taken care of by the last day of your contract (as per PS policy).
