I live in Korea but I am debating whether to take my 7-year-old child to Tokyo Disneyland for a special treat or just go to an amusement park here in Korea.
Who has gone to both Tokyo Disneyland and some amusement parks in Korea (Everland, LotteWorld, etc.)? Is the extra expense of Tokyo Disneyland (airfare & hotel) worth it? How much more is there in Tokyo Disneyland?

Disneyland has Disney characters, so it has that going for it. Other than that, I've heard Everland is fairly similar in atmosphere and attractions. Lotte World is pretty small for an amusement park, though, so I'd take a pass on that. |

What I am curious about are height restrictions at the Korean amusement parks. A co-worker said that you can't be over 190cm to ride the majority of the rides. I am 200cm so that be me......
Can anyone debunk this? |

I guess it really depends on how much your child likes Disney movies. |

Tokyo Disneyland = Probably more fun but...will also burn a much bigger hole in your pocket. Japan = everything expensive.
Everland = Probably a much better value and not a big difference in quality. Everything in Korea is "bali, bali" so you also shouldn't wait so long for rides. |

Can't remember about Everland, but at Lotte World, there is one roller coaster (the Gyro one) that the maximum is 190cm. |

just 7? save your money and go to Everland.
When 10 or 11, THEN Disneyland (and will always remember at that age). |

Tokyo Disney is exactly like the one in LA, right down to the layout of Tom Sawyer Island. Just the language is different, but they do have maps in English. You can take a direct bus from the Shinjuku (If I remember correctly) Bus depot. |

196cm here. No problem getting onto any ride at Everland. |
