Have you ever wondered what happens to the not fully finished bottles of soju, at your local restaurant? It goes in a spray bottle, to be used later as a disinfectant for the tables.

Do they really? It seems like it would be too sweet for that. Wouldn't the tables get sticky?

I haven't seen it put in a sprat bottle but I have seen half empty bottles poured out onto tables before they wipe the table down.

I saw a lady spraying down a table with a bottle labeled as "소주"...

I'm sure not every restaurant does it. But, I've seen more than one pour waitress pour the dregs from a soju bottle, into a spray bottle.

It wouldn't surprise me if Jinro uses artificial sweetener (which isn't as sticky) for their soju. I'm sure it's whatever is cheapest.

Man if the States ever found out about this stuff, someone would be a very rich man indeed.

Americans have known about it since the 1950's - It was being drunk in America, way back before koreans made it.

Back 60 years ago, mothers would mix a half-glass of milk with a half-glass of 7-up (etc) to have their kids drink the milk.

Mix chilled 7-Up and cold milk in equal parts by pouring the 7-Up gently into the milk. Do not stir. The 7-Up adds a light and delicate flavor making a delicious blended food drink.

It tastes the same as milkis (milk + 7-up) (shaken - not stirred)

Milkis is available in orange, strawberry, mango, melon and classic flavor and is found all over the world - especially Russia - http://www.google.co.kr/imglanding?q=milkis&imgurl=http://www.magicmolly.com/milkis.jpeg&imgrefurl=http://magicmolly.tumblr.com/post/66939129/fist-of-milkis&h=480&w=640&sz=90&tbnid=OSr_fSydKfjCMM:&tbnh=103&tbnw=137&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dmilkis&usg=__nzdjWPLT0HR-8lsjjC6NhXpJFCk=&ei=3TzeS96oKI3wsQPhx_GoBg&sa=X&oi=image_result&resnum=3&ct=image&ved=0CB4Q9QEwAg&start=0

On a semi related note, what is Ambasa? I saw it in the store with the soda pop products, and it said it was a Coke product, but I was too much of a sissy to try a can Razz

I used to buy the stuff at the asian grocery. It's in the states.

You could also just mix some milk, sugar, and seltzer.

The stuff makes soju bearable.

Ambasa is a milk based, non-carbonated soft drink sold by the Coca-Cola Company in Korea and Japan. It was introduced in 1981.

Probably would taste similar to milkis if it were carbonated.

I couldn't ever get over the name to even try it, and that is saying a lot as I have tried literally every drink in the machines by that one. I keep on thinking of a strange disease when I see it. He said, "Dude, my milkis is acting up again. I can't go out tonight."
