Does anyone know of a good English speaking vet in NE Seoul or Uijeongbu? I would prefer a vet who has experience with cats and who is kind and gentle with their patients (I know that this is a lot to ask in Korea, but if you know of a good place, please let me know)
Cheers. |

Both of the vets that I would recommend to you are close to Gimpo, to the North-West of Seoul, which is why I didn't reply to this thread before. It's quite a distance to travel from Uijeongbu.
I know of another vet in Junggye-dong, Nowon-gu, who my friend used to bring his cat to, but I don't know how good he is. If you'd like details for any of them, please PM me. |

The only vet I know of is about 30min north of Homeplus (Uijeongbu) up by the Pocheon Homeplus.
He is very gentle, and loves animals. He's got a cat and 3 dogs that stay in his office all day. The pictures on his wall are a little bit graphic (abuse to animals) but he's very dedicated to helping animals.
My two dogs have gotten shots and treatments there. One of them used to snarl/snap at her old vet, but when she gets put up on his table she just gives me gloomy and resigned looks. They also will run into the shop by themselves.
His office is just South of the Homeplus in Pocheon. Walk back towards Uijeongbu from Homeplus. It's Homeplus, then SM gas, then a building with his office. Its called Happy... something. Happy Vet? |

Thanks...I know where that place is, but was just skeptical as the hospitals in Pocheon are awful (people hospitals)...every time we go to the hospital in Pocheon they look at us like we're some kind of strange space creature from Mars and have attempted to shoo us out of the hospital on multiple occasions (no joke).
Does the guy in there speak any English? |

Yeah, the big two that are used often by people on A.R.K. are Dr. Pet in Gangnam and Chunghwa Animal Hospital in Itaewon. I've been to both and I didn't find them VERY engaged/caring or friendly (I'm not saying they aren't though), but it's good enough. At least there are English speaking people there, which is convenient. In the end, I guess we have to remember that they see pets all day every day and every single patient can't be as special to them as the animal is to us. So I settle for experienced, quality and English service.
Sorry I can't be of more help... |
