Try Mongolia? Close, cheap and a bit more 'off the beaten path".

Hi all,
Fair enough-now I read it back it does seem a bit like 'travel wankery'. |
No it doesn't. People that project that crap are delusional. Seeing a place for a few days is better than never seeing it at all. It's impossible to ever fully immerse yourself somewhere short of living there anyway, so why this illusion of 'real travel' and putting down other ideas of travel?
That's the 'wankery'. |
I agree. I wouldn't consider it "wankery". However going somewhere for a long weekend, rather than a longer period I would consider to be tourism rather than travel.
Hence the people who travel to many countries, but each time for only four or five days, are tourists. Not travelers. |
lol x100.
you don't "agree" at all - you just contradicted everything runthegauntlet just said.
"staying here five days? oh, you're a tourist. wow, you're staying here FIFTY days - wow, man, you're a TRAVELER."
therein lies some hardcore wankery. |
