What with all the recent media hoopla surrounding the Gulf of Mexico oil spill, I got to reflecting back on the Korean spill of a couple of years ago. It got me to wondering: did the poor, scapegoated Indian tanker pilots ever get out of jail? did Samsung ever have to cough up any money to cover the damage/cleanup/loss of income to the locals? was/is there significant lasting damage to the ecosystem?
Anyone followed up on any of this? |

One or both of them nearly died in prison due to special dietary needs and K's refusal to feed them proper food.
They were both released and are now back in India. I bet they hate Koreans with a passion.
Samsung? take responsibility? The hell you say. |
