just about to sign a contract with them, it looks pretty decent.... they're owned by Avalon, which is a pretty big company... but yeah, doing research doesnt give you much and I've done a ton... If it means anything, I spent hours on the internet and I'm picky and I decided it was a go... dongdaemun seems pretty nicely located and has a bunch of universities so it shouldnt be too boring...

I know a guy that worked there (in Dongdaemun in a school called Olympiad....so must be the same one obviously) and i never heard him complain about work. That's a good sign methinks.

I found out through my recruiter that this school is going to open in August. That explains why they are looking for so many teachers.

Well if it hasn't opened up yet, then i must be mistaken in my earlier post.

I was 95% sure i was right about my friend working there, so i don't know what's the story.

Ya, I found that out in the interview with the school... the good thing working for Olympiad/Avalon is there is a chance to transfer to a different school within the system if the new one tanks... I'd like to think schools don't just open and close in one year though.... sending my signed contract back today!

I am also looking for information on this school and the neighborhood. From what I can tell the school has a pretty good reputation as far as hagwons go.

As for the neighborhood, I haven't seen a lot/great things about it. Anyone have any more details about this area of Seoul?

Dongdaemun is basically downtown... Lots to see and do... Nice area, great Indian resturant (Everest) and they're building a big ass green space one stop down at Dongdaemun History and Culture Park

It's likely in Dongdaemun-gu. Dongdaemun Station and market are not located in Dongdaemun-gu. It is a large district and some areas are better than others. Give us more specifics, like which dong, if you've got them. That will probably result in more help on the area.
