I'm thinking of checking it out. It looks pretty interesting. Have a look for yourself. I'm just wondering if anyone's been there, and if they have any nice tips and tricks for getting there conveniently, or what cool things there are to do. I heard you can simply walk around all day and it'd be a great day... they also have bicycle rentals.

Heyri heads for the art village that communicates the culture with the variety genre in the one space. At first, this village was designed as �the book village' linked Paju Publishing Town in 1997. But in the processing of the project, lots of artists in various cultural fields joined it. And the concept of the village was expanded to 'cultural art village'.

Now above three hundred seventy members: writers, artists, cineastes, architects, and musicians are building their artistic spaces, houses, work rooms, museums, galleries. Heyri, the name of village, is quoted from the title "the Sound of Heyri" which is the traditional farming song at Paju province in Gyeonggi-do.

Alright for a quick day trip, but there's not really that much art to see and the buildings aren't that impressive.

The really annoying thing is that almost every little gallery charges 500-2000 won to take a look inside...really discourages casual browsing.

i had a lovely day out there. How i would get there is to take one of the buses in front of hapjeong station... i forget which number. I went with some friends, and that's how we got there. it was really easy.

Once you get there, there are these motorized cart tours where they drive you around the village. It's a great way to start, as you get to see the whole village, where everyhting is, and make a plan of what you want to see before you get started. It's like starting with the ferris wheel at the fair

My favorite museum was the instrument museum. They have hundreds of instruments inside, and you can touch and try them out at will. A little pricey at 5000 won, but totally worthit . A lot of the museums have cover to get in, unfortunately. You could drop a lot of money there if you aren't careful.

I haven't been there yet, but it's on my list of places to visit. I really want to attend a chocolate class there.

I went there and thought that it was absolutely awful and a complete waste of time, and yes, every little shop charges you to go inside. I will admit that I have a reasonably negative outlook on living in Korea at present time and think that most things Korean are inferior and dull (save for galbi restaurants), but I would certainly not recommend going to the Hye Ri Art Village unless you really are super bored and just want somewhere new to wander around for a day.
