|

Any place I can get my haircut in Seoul where they will understand English. I'm a guy, if that particularly matters...I don't want to end up bald |

They probably won't speak English there, but you might try Blue Club. They have pictures on the wall of several different styles, just point to the picture you like, or bring a picture of someone with the hairstyle you want.
It only costs W6000, they'll vacuum your head afterwards, and every tenth cut is free! |

It is a bit more expensive than the 10,000Won haircuts you can get around the place, but Hair and Joy in Hongdae where Johnny and Lucy work is great. They speak English really well and have both worked overseas for some time so know how to cut western hair. |

Don't cheap out on a haircut man! It's your social life at risk, yo!
...And besides... The more expensive places hook you up with a shampoo and head massage before and after the cut by a cute Korean girl.
by "expensive" i mean over 12,000 W |

This one sounds like a safe bet...close to a subway station? |

I always just tell them to make it nice. Hasn't ended up badly yet. Don't really need an English speaking place. Just have a friend write up something about making you look pretty. Most places will find that funny (especially if you are a guy) and give you great service. |

I second this barber, I stumbled on this guy because I really needed a haircut and just walked in his place. I think he said he used to work in the states for a while and I belived him becuase his English was pretty good. I've been going to him ever since. |

johnny & lucy
Hair and Joy
you take the subway to hongdae ip-gu on the green line.
take exit 4, turn right (no u-turn!) after exiting and walk up the street.
take the first street on the left hand side. its a five way intersection (rather small tho). you make a sharp left. you will see the sign from there already.
after you pass the restaurant to your right (i think its a seafood place, but not sure about it), its the second building on the right.
3rd floor.
you dont necessarily need an appointment, but its always smarter to make one. or else you might end up having to wait...
the other place i dont know. |

Juno is a franchise hairdressing salon..
They are all over Seoul and the rest of the country..
In most branches they have at least 1-2 staff that have trained internationally and speak english well...so you can clearly communicate what style etc.....
It is more expensive than blue club...but just as many customers are male and you get freebies...like a drink or if you have stuff done that takes a long time to do you will get a tray full of finger food... |
