Hi all!
I've got two weeks for summer vacation anytime from July20- August 20. I'd like to go somewhere mega-cheap/ awesome- maybe some stunning beaches, culture, adventure!!!
I'd like to get out of Korea, and am hoping to keep the whole thing under a million won
If anybody has any ideas/ know of any deals, please let me know |

Airfare overseas during that time will take a big chunk out of a million won. Good luck and pack a tent if you wish to stay under budget. |

Plan on a minimum of $50 per day + airfare for travel abroad during that period.
*peak periods are always expensive.
IF you plan to spend it all in one place doing nothing more than watching coconuts grow it is doable but otherwise you are kind of out of luck (airfare out of Korea is the budget killer). |

Sadly, adventuregal, the other posters are right. Terrible time for flights.
If you haven't seen much of Korea(for all its shortcomings)this might be the time to do it.
The time for a beach vacation(e.g. Thailand) is fall/winter. Getting out of grey, bleak, chilly Korea to sit on a beach somewhere can really re-charge your batteries. Believe you me. |

Thanks Guys! I would be pretty content to sit on some stupefying gorgeous beach and watch coconuts grow.. where could I find something along those lines (I haven't really traveled Asia- at all- yet)? |

i would think the cheapest flights would be to the Philippines, then Vietnam (for decent beaches at least). |

Yes, you can get a cheap flight to Philippines, Vietnam is decent (may need a visa though), and Taiwan. Malaysia is not overly expensive either. |

Yes, for Vietnam you DO need a visa before you arrive.
I think some posters here claiming "cheap" flights available to "beach" destinations (during that time of year) are overly optimistic but, hey, hope I'm wrong.
I still maintain that the time for a "beach" vacation is in the winter, but hey, that's just me. |

You can still get flights to the Philippines (from Korea) for around 700k during the summer vacation period.
You can expect to spend at least 500k won for 2 weeks in a resort (accommodation and meals). Exchange rates are not in your favor at the moment either.
1.2 -1.4 million is doable but you are not likely to squeeze 2 weeks in for under a million any more.
