I would like to know of some magazines that people read. Any good ones out there? I haven't looked too much. I mostly read Times and GQ when I was back home.

Is Lapham's Quarterly available in Korea? I'm a big fan of the journal and would like to read current issues.

Discover and National Geographic are good. American Rifleman is good, too, if you're into that sort of thing, but I doubt it distributes outside N. America and Europe.

I love Koreana: http://www.koreana.or.kr/

I now even received it back in the States. It's great if you are interested in Korean culture.

I read a Korean magazine, Den The Gentleman's Magazine. The stated theme of the magazine is compatible with me:

'Denman' is a newly coined word that refers to a financially and socially successful gentleman who takes time to enjoy life.
The word 'denman' combines 'den' derived from a Korean luxury men's magazine and 'man' from the word gentleman.

Today, the conventional gentleman refers to a well-mannered man or a 'nice guy'.
A denman is a well-educated gentleman who is financially secure, is knowledgable on a broad range of issues, and is interested in culture and art.
He expresses his own style in fashion and is also noted for his keen sense of humor and wit.
A typical denman is popular, well mannered, considerate, and is held in high regard by his peers.

It is available internationally, for a fee. (extra thirty bucks)
Do you have anyone that can mail it to you from home?

I saw a magazine called "Spark" and it looked like a Maxim type of magazine. Has anyone else heard of it or bought one?

Sounds like Denman thinks he is a well educated gentleman, thinks he is knowledgable on a broad range of issues, and thinks it's advantageous to show interest in culture and art.

You can read mags in .pdf form by downloading them, because they aren't widely available in print. Heck, outside of Seoul, there isn't even English newspapers distributed. English reading is hard to come by in many instances. Good thing I got a computer to read. I still would prefer print to just read in bed before drifting off to sleep. Looking into a bright monitor and click mousing around aint the same.
