For all the people harping on about her image and the hype surrounding it, who really cares what her image is? She's just doing what she pleases, if it doesn't appeal to you, nobody is forcing you to look or listen.

Personally I like her music and her voice. It's just pop of course, but good pop is among the hardest music to make. Really. Not many people can do it, and those who do it well make it look easy. She's very talented (and incidentally, from the few interviews I've seen of her she seems like a genuinely nice person - not deserving of the many insults people enjoy throwing at her). Anyway, I just listen to it because it sounds good. People who think music has to be unpopular or 'indy' to be good are only fooling themselves.

She works hard, has a good voice, plays piano, writes a mean pop hook and wears police barrier tape better than the majority of pop singers out there. Compared to Miley Cyrus who is a star only because she's the devilspawn of Billy Ray, I'd rather sit to Lady Gaga's cd and videos.

Shrewd businesswoman. She dresses strange and gets all that attention. Really makes her stand out from other singers. Assuming she'll tone it down as the years go by if she doesn't want to be a one hit wonder. She seems odd to me, but she's no doubt carring big bags of money.

Just ignore it. She will fade away eventually.

Just like Flock of Seagulls. Sadly, in their case.

The act of doing something/anything to astound people or freak them out is a little old, and was done much better by a far more attractive Madonna 20 years ago.

Why so much hating on k-pop? It's fun to listen to. Granted, it'll never compete with a lot of stuff but...how can one resist having a bit of a jiggle to it Very Happy As for lady gaga, I think she's okay. At least she writes her own music and clearly doesn't care much about what people think of her. I think a lot of her act is played up though, no matter how many times she says "this is the real me". Yeah yeah, gaga!

I question how much of her music she actually "writes". Most creative work is done in the studio these days and she doesn't engineer or produce her own music. She also clearly very much cares what people think of her judging from the fashion (I can't find a picture of her online not wearing something ludicrous) and the plastic surgery she's had done.

This "writes her own music and doesn't give a ****" reeks of a carefully created by the media image.

I like her, relative to modern American pop music. Everything else from the last few years is either whiny R&B or atonal garbage (Beyonce I'm looking at you).

She must be good . . . every single K-poop girlgroup has copied her style over the last year or two.

Okay, maybe that's not the beest example of "good."
