I've been driving 3 years here, never got a ticket from one. Pretty convinced most of them don't work?
Anyways, any tips you have about avoiding them, or the parking cameras. I saw some CD's beside the plates, but I doubt that works? Or back home they had some reflective spray? |

I didn`t realise speeding was actually possible in Korea. You need long stretches of road uncluttered by traffic jams and other vehicles for that. |

Some of the cameras are duds and others work; I've gotten a speeding ticket or two since I've been driving here.
The secret to not getting a ticket? Get a GPS system that announces when the cameras are coming up and counts you down till you pass them. Or, if you see people breaking for no apparent reason, it's because they are all slowing down for the speed cameras. Follow the flow of traffic and you'll be okay.
Hot spots for cameras? I'll tell you where I got mine. The stretch of highway between Incheon airport and the toll gate. It's nice to finally DRIVE after being in a gridlocked parking lot most of the time and it's nice to ride that stretch of highway (I'm guilty as charged!).
Jeju island, one of the highways.
Also, watch out for the bridges in Seoul. Those cameras DO work.
The good news is a speeding ticket here isn't as much as back home. Depends on the speed you are going above the limit. Fines can go from 30,000won and up. |

Buying a GPS is a good tip. Also, motorcycle have no front plates, thus receive no tickets. So that's quite fun |

You can absolute turn on your rockets in the 200 km stretch between Daejeon and Gumi/Daegu. Also, if you go between Daegu and Chuncheon in Gangwon, another sweet spot with not many cars. Never owned a car, but rent occasionally. |

Roads clear out once you leave Seoul or go driving at certain times of day.
You can hit and ride at 100 mph in seoul depending on the time and day. |

I cruise past working speed cameras at least twice a day on my bike, its a great way to pass cars that are slowing down |
