I notice the only packaged deli meats at E-mart, Homeplus, Hyundai, etc.. are Ham or different kinds of ham like chicken ham(not sure wtf this is).
Where can I find some turkey around this place? I live near Cheonho Station. Anywhere nearby I can find out or a place to buy it that wont cost me an arm and a leg? It's really the only thing I'm missing. Nice Deli seems too expensive and too much of a hassle.
Thanks in advance! |

Costco has smoked turkey, but it's pretty expensive as well. I miss real turkey too! |

If it's the same stuff I think you're talking about, it's the Hormel stuff that comes in a doublebox-shrink-wrap-pack. Can't remember the price, but it's around 10,000. You can make four reasonably stacked samiches for that. My three-year-old scoffs that stuff down like there's no tomorrow and calls it "Ham". Anyway, I've had both better and worse in this country. |

Pre-sliced turkey sandwich meat is one of the biggest things I miss from back home.
I used to get big turkey legs from the deli section at Homeplus (in Suwon). Then I would just spend about 10 minutes on it with a knife, making it into sandwich meat. Never found out where the other parts of the turkey were.
I don't know about other Homepluses, but they all have pretty much the same things, right? I'm in a small town now that has only an E-mart, and they definitely don't have turkey there. |

Turkey isn't all that big in Korea. If you want a turkey for Thanksgiving, you actually have to go to a Korean farm to get it. The only place I've seen it is Costco and that nice deli place online. There just isn't that big of a market for turkey here. |

Seriously though. You can get smoked turkey legs. Where is the rest of the bird? Or did they grind it and turn it into "ham"? Not to mention that what they sell as "ham" isn't actually ham. Ham is smoked pork leg. Not whatever that other stuff is.
Costco has turkey lunch meat, but it might as well be Korean "ham".
They did also have sliced salami and prosciutto for maybe 15000. |

You can get whole birds from Costco, although frozen and probably only around Thanksgiving, or from major hotels in Seoul. |

You can normally get very good quality sandwich turkey at the Hyundai Department Store in the COEX mall. When I was there I would stock up once every 2 months or so. The woman who takes care of the deli section would always give me a 1+1 on it when she saw me pick up like 40$ worth at a time. You can also find great black forest ham there also. Can't remember the brand, but it was German. You can also check the Hannam foreign food market...actually the little store just before the actual Hannam market (still open?) They sometimes had Oscar Mayer "sub" packs with a pile of turkey and a pile of ham in them, 10,000w each. Worth a look but I only found them three times in the span of 2 years lol. This info over a year old mind you, so take it with a grain of salt. |

I know this is a little late to chime in but our price on TB is quite reasonable when you consider the size 500g, that's a lot of meat. I uploaded an old photo of what 250g looks like (16 slices and those was thicker) so you get double what you see in that photo! Substantially more value than 8 slices/10,000W.

Also like to note that our minimum order has been dropped from 50 to 25,000W, so you don't need to order extra stuff if you're only looking to re-stock. And now you have over 700 items to choose from~ |

That isn't even real turkey. It looks like some kind of artificial processed stuff. What percentage of the "meat" is actually turkey in your turkey cold cut slice? |
