A solution to getting my money AFTER I leave Korea would be if my KB ATM card would work in Japan. Does anyone know? |

When I went to Japan over two years ago it didn't work. I even went to a KB in Tokyo but they couldn't help me (I guess it was a bank that was not really a bank). I'm sure there have been rants about this here but it's beyond stupid that they make a card that cannot be used abroad. I'm sure someone has more information. |

I asked two different KB managers before traveling through Asia. They both said KB cards only work in Korea, no where else. I took their word for it and withdrew my money before traveling. That's my experience. |

other than post offices and Citi/HSBC bank, Japanese banks (Sumitomo/MUFJ etc) wont accept ANY foreign cards anyway....they only accept Japanese issued visa/mastercards .....just for a heads up encase you didn`t know.
As for KB? well I heard people have had problems with the so called International cards......try to open a KEB or SC account instead. The only 2 real foreigner friendlier banks that actually issue cards that work abroad. |
