No joke.
They had to take a test today, and afterward I wrote the correct answers on the board... well, after I did this a student wanted his paper back but i refused.... well, he took his mechanical pencil and sliced me with it..... leaving a huge scratch on my arm..... what is wrong with these kids? Is this normal? Anyone else been attacked my pencils? I just hope that I can't get any diseases as a result.... who knows where that pencil has been.
And I thought the day before was bad when I have a test and the students crumpled the paper and throw it away.
These kids are crazy |

Have his ass sent home immediately and demand a note of apology before he returns to your classroom, however basic. Do not back down from this demand...
A kid who would do that to you would definitely do it to a classmate, in which case someone could get really hurt, you could be blamed, or both. |

He took the pencil and stabbed me and then slid it.... slicing me.
Kind of like opening a taped box with a box cutter.
Stab and slice. |

Stab him back. That will restore the classes respect and fear for you. |

That student (and his peers) needed to know AT THAT MOMENT that what he did was wrong. But since the moment has passed, make the injury look really bad by bandaging it up to the extreme and tell everyone, including the homeroom teacher, your supervisor and the VP and the principal. Show up in the morning at homeroom and demand an apology in front of the HRT. You have to show to the student that this was a serious offense and he needs to apologize to you. |

Look, you're in Korea now. This is how things are done. It's not like back home. Get used to being stabbed. |

Frankly, I'd go ballistic on that kid. Bring his parents in and have them apologize for their demon child. Get a written letter of apology from them too. Get them to agree to send him to get counseling for his anger management issues. I'd pretty much do things that would cause the student and his family embarrassment and shame so that he learns from this lesson. Assault/battery in the U.S. is grounds for expulsion and IMHO, that should be the case in every school. |

I tried to do that trick..... but no one took me up on it after the first kid got pricked...
another thing to do is have a spray bottle, like the ones you use for plants. Add a little bleach to the water, and keep it by your desk.
The next time one of the lil' pricks gets too close, give 'em a spritz. or three. it works on dogs and cats, just think of the possibilities! |

This is at least the second time you have recommended bleach. So you want to ruin the students clothes and possibly blind them if it gets in their eyes?
Oh, and they are "pricks"? Time to find a new line of work.
OP, the moment has pasted but you need to do something to lay down the law ASAP. Pouring bleach in a student's eyes is not recommended. |

What do people expect?
The OP probably has no experience / training in childhood education. He / she has no idea of how to keep control of his classroom or his / her students.
Add to the fact that he / she is a foreigner who can't speak the local language and problems like this are bound to come up.
Teaching kids in a foreign country isn't all peachy sometimes. |
