|
|
I informed my school on May 17 that I would not be staying another year. My k teacher jumped on requesting my airline ticket from the finance office before I could purchase one. I asked my k teacher last thursday when I would be getting my E ticket. She claimed June 10th. I think she made that date up, and had no idea. Well, June 10 came and went, but no ticket. I figure I would wait to Monday and have her call the office . My question is does the school have to wait for the money for the flight from Gepik and if so how long should it take for the school to get it and book my flight? Sorry for the long question. P.S. I gather the samething is done for tthe sevreance pay. |

After they've kicked you out of the apartment, they will send the e-ticket to your home address back home by snail mail. |

When I worked for GEPIK (a little over 2 years ago) I had to arrange my own flight and get the travel agent to send a receipt to the school so I could be re-imbursed. I would suggest, if possible, going direct to the accounting office and asking them directly what's going on, if you wait too long you could find yourself between a rock and hard place.
I got the severance andflight money deposited into my KEB account a few days after my last day of work (I didn't fly out 'til about a week after my last day, and my school was kind enough to let me stay in the apartment until I left) if you're flying out after your last day of work I would advise that you go to the immigration office and apply of an extension of sojourn as that your visa technically expires on your last day of work and it can be a hassle when passing through immigration at the airport if you're here beyond your exit date. |

They give you a choice now,but my K teacher jumped in too fast and she claims the oofice will get the ticket. No one in the office speaks English. My main thing is, does the school have to wait for the money from Gepik if they are purchasing the flight? |

I am sorry if I did not make it clear what my concern was, so I will now. I told my k teacher on May 17 that I would not be staying another year. She jumped and told the ladies in the office to get my airline ticket. I believe my k teacher said a travel agent was involved. I asked my K teacher a week ago when I would get my ticket. Her response was June 10. Well, the 10th came and went and no ticket. This week will make a month. I need to get my flight information asap so I can pass information to other people. I was wondering if anyone knew if the school needs to wait for the funds for the airline ticket and that may be the reason for the hold up |

why don't you ask your co-teacher or get somebody who speaks korean to help you? We are not your school administration so you need to talk to them directly to solve your problem. |
