You have a gun in Korea or are you seriously that sad as to keep posting here long after you've left?

Resisting the steady march of technology is pointless. Instead, citizens must remain firm on what is or isn't an acceptable application of it. There's nothing wrong with technology like this being an option for people to utilize of their own accord. People should resist any enforced use of this, though; it should be illegal for a company to require it, and no government agency -- including the military and the criminal justice system -- should be making use of it.
Being able to use my credit card with the wave of my hand is fine. Being required to do so isn't. |
Yup, this is how I pretty much feel. If I want to able to make sure I can find my daughter, so be it. BUt it being forced on someone sits wrong with me (yes, I know I'm forcing it on my daughter, but I'd proptly remove it when she asked or became a teen). |

My family doesn't live in Korea, genius. And I don't see how posting on here after leaving is any more sad than pretending to be the namesake superhero of another country.

Yeah, it sits wrong with you, unless it's my family, in which case it's heroic... Anyway, how ignorant are you that you think putting a chip in your daughter is good parenting? It's not your personal tracking device for her, it's for the government and private corporations to monitor everything she does. That is the real purpose behind it ("modern convenience" is just the sales pitch they use to get clueless chumps to sign on). While you're at it why don't you just put government cameras in her room so they can spy on her and watch her undress every day too? After all, safety comes first |

Who ever comes out with fashionable designer ones is going to make a killing. Who knows chips may already be in money. Any country could do it. It makes everything simpler. You can never be too paranoid. |
Yeah, it's all just a figment of our imagination. The fact that the technology exists and is documented in the mainstream media (like Bloomberg) is irrelevant. Because dull mockery and worn out jokes are so much easier than taking 10 seconds to google it.. |
I never said that. Just having fun with the subject if you don't mind. |

Moron, it was a joke. Are you really that effin' dense? Did you seriously think that I was going tosomehow track down your family and install some type of chip in them?
How's that tinfoil hat fitting ya?
As for my daughter; yeah, I would put a chip in her as a child for tracking purposes. I worry about kidnappings and such, and would be fine with keeping track of her. As an adult (or near there), that'd be her call.
As for you talking about my 3 year old undressing... you're seriously fooked. |

Anyone who would implant a microchip into their children that allows the government to track and monitor them is a bad parent, period.
Oh, and I knew it as a joke. It was just a really stupid one. Stop trying to be clever, you only make it worse. |

So now I'm a bad parent? Well, that's your opinion I suppose - it's wrong, but ou're welcome to it.
Gotta' ask though; are you a parent? |

There are some who seriously take the position you are now saying was a joke. I thought you were serious.
On a message board we do not have the benefit of tone of voice and facial expression. I suggest you make use of the emoticons when appropriate if you mean to be satirical. |

Because it's a battle you can only lose. If you fail, you've achieved nothing (and presumably at some expense for having tried). If you succeed, your only prize is ignorance and citizens being denied potentially valuable innovations for personal use. And that says nothing of the fact that in a world like ours, with many other nations in it, other nations won't hold back, giving them a technological advantage over you - something at best neutral and at worst negative. |

So, just to be clear on this - you seriously thought that I was going to track down his family and somehow install some type of chip in them?
And I suppose you also thought that his threat to shoot me was also serious?? |

Sorry, I should have been clearer: I thought you were serious about chipping your own family. After all, that was the comment which led VQ to respond sarcastically to you in the first place.
And no, I did not think you were serious about chipping his family. |

That makes it sound very convenient. Far better than walking around with a bulky wallet, keys etc ...
Seriously though, I am against the chips. Not just because the Bible specifically fortells them in Genesis (pretty darned obviously, I might add) and forbids their use - in fact states that the processing of humans this way welcomes the final solution - but they do philosophically reduce humanity to robots in the system. |

Ah, well then I was... to an extent. I would very much consider putting in some type of tracking chip for my daughter (until she reaches a certain age). |
