Bought a brand new Diesal SUV a year ago. Is the goverment emission checkup year and a half or 2 years? Anyone in here went thought it? Is there a website? Thanks |

The due date for the next test was noted in a box on the bottom right of my ownership papers. Not sure if it depends where you live.
Also, since mine is coming up, I'm curious how it works if anyone knows? |

It's every 2 years. You will get a notice in the mail telling you where and when to go, assuming your car registration address and where you live now hasn't changed. You usually have about a month window to get it done. The inspection stations are government places, not private garages. My mechanic offers to take my car and get the checkup done for free (ie, no extra payment above the 30-35k won the inspection costs.) It saves me some time, as he gets 'cuts' in the line, I suppose. |
