i'm very worried about mold in my apartment and i remember reading earlier on dave's that you can buy something that's like a dehumidifier, but you have to regularly change it. it's supposed to help with the humidity. does anyone know what i'm describing? if so, could you give me the korean name for it? i'd really appreciate it. |

you could do that. If it is worth the extra few dollars, keep your AC on a higher setting like 23-24 so that it is not cooling the whole time, but it will still be filtering the air thus drying it out some. keep your windows closed on non-windy days or after it rains |

Maybe you're referring to those little containers that absorb moisture?
I think the 'hama' (meaning hippo) brand is popular. See here:

It's a 습기제거제 (seupgi jae guh jae) |

I've got a couple of these but I'm not sure how to use them...do you just remove the top silver part and then leave the underlying plastic on it or do you remove that too? Leave lid on or off? |

yeah, i'm a little confused about that too. i ended up removing one layer of film from the top so there's still one covering whatever's inside the box. i think it's working... the mold has seemed to stop spreading. |

You're doing it the right way. Remove the foil and leave the top paperish layer on. When it fills with water, it's time to change it. You'll probably need a few for even a small studio. Stick one in your closet, another in the bathroom, and one in your living area. |
