If I format a document in Open Office, save it as an .rtf and open it in HWP will the formatting be screwed up?
I don't want to spend a lot of time making a document, only for it to not work in HWP. |

Cutting and pasting doesn't work? I've been able to do that with MS Office and HWP in the past. Never tried it with open office, though. |

I don't have hwp on my PC. The file needs to be published, and the publishers can only work with hwp files
I just opened it in word, and the 3 pages I spent about an hour getting perfect are no where near what I intended. The fonts weren't even consistent. It's just going to have to look like crap I guess.
Why can't they just take a pdf like a normal person? |

Hangeul Word Processor is a free download. You could always copy and paste, then fix the formatting as required. |

I know the Hangul Viewer program is free; however, I've never heard of the actual word processing program being free. Where is it free? |

Oooh, maybe that's what I meant...
You could download that, then keeping editing the rtf in word until it looks right in the viewer. |

Yes, if you do it in .doc or .rtf and open in hwp it will be different.
The same with files formatted in hwp and converted to .doc or .rtf.
Your school should have a copy of HWP that you can install (or copy the cd's to install later) on your computer.

I'd really rather not deal with HWP files so I save my stuff as PDF. The HWP viewer maintains the formatting of PDFs I believe. |

This is good news (if true). Cheers. |

Only in Korea can the people make a word processing program that does nothing new, but is only used for and by themselves |

Only in Korea do they use Hangeul. Apparently Hangeul Word Processor has been around since 1989, and it does plenty that other word processors don't.

I would imagine it integrates Korean stuff better eg hangeul characters etc. I just wish it would integrate with other programs, better. |

Its not that difficult to write documents in hwp. Its intuitive, mimics Word, & in some ways is less complicated. |

I would try it. The problem is, I don't have it on my PC. Could probably ask the school to install it I suppose. I just know all my tabs and fonts are going to get screwed up in the conversion. |
