Anyone else watching the game?
NZ have had a few chances early on. Probably more possession as well. Hope is still alive, but I don't see Slovakia not bringing their superior class to bear in the later stages of the game. NZ are technically miles behind. |

Hamsik just missed a chance. He has the worst hair of the tournament, thus far. |

NZ are vulnerable on the counter. Luckily the Slovaks are bereft of anything approaching fluency. |

First corner of the match. Paston flails wildly, but the ball trickles out harmlessly. |

Killen shoots from deep, but it goes wide. |

Paston has a 'mare, and is nearly made to pay for it by Vittek (he was available for a free on Championship Manager 4. One of the hidden gems of that game). |

Smeltz ruffles the side netting. He won't get many chances better than that. A real shame he couldn't replicate his A League form of the past two years. |

45 mins gone and it's anyone's game.
Man of the half is Hamsik.
Paston made the best save, but looks anything but solid, especially under the high ball.
Elliot was ever present for NZ. He did fluff his lines on his set piece delivery but more than made up for it with a 40 yard pass to Smeltz mid way through the half.
This commentator heart says NZ have a chance, but his head knows that Vittek has the experience to impose his will on this game, as well as the players around him to make it happen.
Stay tuned folks. |

Either Rory Fallon needs to start dominating up front, or NZ needs to switch tactics. Hoof it and hope isn't working. |

Herbert has subbed Killen for Wood. This is the first time I have heard of the man.
On a more positive note, Winston Reid is looking solid at right back. It's a shame NZ only plays one international a year. It would be nice to see more of him. |

This game appears to be spluttering to its inevitable conclusion. Slovakia are basically dominant now and it seems only a matter of time before they can score one or two more.
I would be happy with 3-1. Ryan Nelsen with a towering header from a corner. |

The Slovak coach just subbed man of the match Vittek. They obviously don't think NZ have any chance of equalizing. |
