This is probably a long shot, but can anyone suggest any videos I can show a middle school class that involve pioneers, covered wagons, etc? One of my middle school classes is using a book that has several lessons on pioneers moving west and I want to show them something to better illustrate the point. It also tends to be a dry class and it's late in the day, so I would like to do something that is a little more interesting for them. The only videos that come to mind are old episodes of Wagon Train and a Twilight Zone episode, and I'm not sure how appropriate those would be.

Westward the Women, 1951, a classic, bringing women west to marry.

I downloaded it from a torrent, you may still be able to.

also a lot of classic westerns are available on dvd in Seoul at the various dvd kiosks. try Kyobo book store or over in Technomart at Gyeonbyeon Station.

Want to be the coolest teacher ever? Assign video game homework:

It's an old game called the Oregon Trail where they have to get their covered wagon across the country to Oregon safely. Not too hard to understand.

You can pre-teach a lot of the vocabulary from the game.
