Hey folks,

I'm finally taking the plunge. My flight leaves in 48-hours and I'm in Daegu for a year.

I'm posting this small message to ask any advice as a musician in Korea, to see if there are like-minded individuals out there looking to start a band etc...

I play guitar - I'll be taking my acoustic - and sing.

I'm open for any suggestions!

Come over to Seoul! That's where the vibe is!

I'll be in Daegu in two weeks...I unbolted the neck off of my electric so it would fit in my suitcase since space was an issue. Les Paul 100, a cheaper LP, but the only one made with a bolt on that i know of.

Can you sing with a high falsetto 80's/early 90's hair metal style? Or can you do a death metal growl that would make Chris Barnes proud. If you can do either of these I'll jam with you.

I think the best place to start would be Sugar Joe's, near Kyungpook University. They have live music every weekend, and frequently the patrons have impromptu jam sessions/open mics through the week. The owners also own their own recording studio, and have turned out CDs for several local acts. Seems like just about every expat who goes there plays one instrument or another.

Do you know what part of Daegu you'll be living in?
