Hey i was just wondering why after going to the consulate and having an interview they asked me to pick it up 1-2 days later. What exactly do they need to do? Are they contacting the school and recruiter? just curious as to why they cant just throw a stamp on it after the interview and seeing my issue #. |

It's not actually a stamp... More like a really nice looking sticker that has all of your info on it, lol...
Why they need to do a 2 minute interview is the question you should be asking
(Mine consisted of "Why do you want to teach in Korea?" and "How will teaching Korean students be different from teaching Canadian students?" |

Well then, why does it take a day to place a sticker in my passport? |

Good question. I just re-newed my visa and they affixed the stamp immediately. Others had to wait a bit to pick theirs up, but they were getting them back that day and certainly within an hour. |

The lady at the desk asked where my town was and i told her it was 20 min north....my friends that got visas were from out of state, so perhaps they feel like they can take their time with out being an inconvenience me. |

I didn't even have an interview; they just took my passport and told me to come back in three or four days, and I lived a 4 hour bus ride from the consulate. Can't say I understand either, but that's the nature of bureaucaracy. |

I showed up with my passport and documents, the clerk asked what I was going to do in Korea (at a bank-teller-esque window), I said teach, she took my stuff and said come back tomorrow.
It probably helped that the consulate office was a few blocks from the UN. |
