Unless I'm mistaken, PS3's aren't region-locked for games, only for DVDs. You won't be able to play normal DVD movies (NA has a different region) but WILL be able to play Blu-Rays (NA is the same "region" as Japan and Asia).
I have a Taiwan (HK, maybe?) Slim that I have played both Korean and NA games on. You can also set your own language on the menu and it seems to put you in the correct region for the PSN (I get the NA PSN, but it sends my gf to the Chinese language one when she signs on with her account). |

PSN location is determined by your credit card's billing address |

Hmmm. The gf said she has never input any credit card info onto her PSN account, but she said it asked her for her location or something like that. Maybe it bases your region on that. In any case, the important thing is that you can choose which PSN you connect to, regardless of where the unit was manufactured or released. |

I only asked since I have Blu-Ray DVDs. As they aren't region-locked then it isn't important but I didn't know the Blu-Ray DVDs weren't region-locked items (hence why I asked). |

No, no, they ARE region-locked. It's just that North America is one of the regions that can be played on the Asian PS3's. Mine can play North America, Japan and Asia region Blu-Rays. |

Yeah I just saw that on Wikipedia (great source eh?). But it definitely clears up a lot of things. East Asia is part of Region A which includes North America. |
