I'm up late watching the last two episodes of this show. It is amazing. It really knows how to punch you in the gut.
I started watching it when it first came out. I watched most of the first season with my parents, but I think it was either canceled in NZ, or there was something better on the other channel for four years (seems unlikely).
I've been watching it for about a month, and I didn't really like it, but I think it will reward repeat viewings.
The last scene of season four is probably one of my favorite in any medium.
Anyone else seen it (obviously, it is mega famous)?
The final episode is about to start. Will get back to you. |

Hehe. The sitcom Just Shoot Me appears twice in the last episode. What a burn! |

The last episode is the best ending of any series ever. |

Wow. Ridiculous.
I'm a little shell shocked.
It really is a killer ending.
It's very, very neat.
I think the finale of The Shield is still better. Though, that may change in the future. I will probably give both shows (it's been a year since I saw The Shield) another run through in a year or two. I bet there is a lot of symmetry, fore shadowing and etc in there. I doubt there is much depth in that respect on The Shield.
The 00s, really were a golden era for television. How will the 10s shape up? We already had The Sopranos and Six Feet Under at the beginning of the last decade. And many of the best shows were passed their heyday by 2005 (The Wire, Arrested Development, The Office, Deadwood, West wing? (I haven't seen it), All these shows were already dominant early in the decade. What do we have that will kick on to be as good in the current decade?
Definitely Breaking Bad. It is already, at least, Six Feet Under good.
Any other suggestions? |

Did you notice at the end that one of the adopted kids (the older one, I think) grows up to be gay also?
Never seen The Shield, but I've had it recommended to me. Others that were recommended were Sons of Anarchy (which is ok) and Breaking Bad (which is getting better - season 3 so far is brutal). Spartacus: Blood and Sand is also awesome.
From what you've posted, I'd ask if you've ever seen the HBO series Oz. One of my all-time favorites. |

Haha, didn't notice. They did have Grandkids, though.
Spartacus is good for a lark (I wouldn't mention it in the same breath as Six Feet, though).
I don't have any experience what so ever with Oz. If it's on HBO it should be decent. Might give it a look.
West Wing might be the next show I watch. I remember not liking it when it first came on. Even then, the walking and talking thing seemed cheesy to me. It has been parodied mercilessly since then. |
