I've been put in charge of grooming our chosen champion for the English speaking contest. The kid is pretty okay, he works INCREDIBLY hard and I see him about 90 minutes a day. So far we've just been reading Shel Silverstein poems and reviewing his pronunciation. I'd like to give him something more than 'my opinion' and take a more professional approach to this. I think he'd do very well with a little Phonics practice. Does anyone have a good website for this kind of thing?

It's not hard to find, Just google it and spend a few hours searching.

EFL classroom also has some good pronunciation songs.

I'd try English Central He can get a lot of response back. Sign up as a teacher and invite him, that way you can track, set goals and monitor what he does (choose appropriate videos). http://englishcentral.com/teachers

also see the pronunciation page on EFL Classroom 2.0 Look here under teaching... http://eflclassroom.ning.com/directory.html

I teach pronunciation classes to my Korean coworkers twice a week, and have a ton of materials I could email you (some are PDF, others Word). You'd have to post your email address though, as I don't have pm priviledges yet.

Barring that, I'd advise focusing on syllable stress, silent (or "dropped) letters, and final -ed sounds. These seem to be the most common problems I've encountered, and don't get much attention.
