Is it acceptable to have a photocopy of your diploma? I have it notarized and I was planing on taking it to the county clerk and then apostille. If this isn't correct, does my college have to issue some kind of official letter? Thanks~Jill |

If you already got it notarized and the state will issue an apostille for it, it should be ok. The county clerk's office wouldn't notarize my photocopy so I had to go to the university and have a copy printed out. Someone in the office notarized it there. Same difference. I'm not sure why it had to be such a hassle.
Make sure you bring your original diploma with you when you come to Korea. I had have it to show immigration. |

you should NEVER bring your original diploma with you - unless you are fully prepapred to see it lost, stolen, hung up on someone's wall w/o your permission, held hostage, ripped, torn, generally disrespected as so many on here (myself included) can testify.
fortunately, the one that was mistreated in my case was a duplicate, tho looking at them side by side one could never tell the difference.
do NOT bring your original to Korea, leave it safe and sound back home, where it belongs. |
