Hey all,
I just put in my months notice at my current hagwon because of several issues and am currently an E2 visa holder. Im American but my mother was originally from South Korea. She is now an American citizen which makes me eligible for f4 status. My question is can I go to immigration and get my f4 visa even though i'm on E2 now?
I have all my documents for the f4 approval process (Passport, birth cert. mothers birth cert., Cert of American Naturalization etc)
If anyone can shed some light on this id greatly appreciate it!
Cheers

yes, if you have everything you need for documentation you can simply go to the immigration office and change your status.
You also need the application form and fee (60k for change of status). |

1. Go to your local immigration office and fill out the forms.
2. Hand in your E2 visa.
3. Wait one week.
4. Pick up your F4 visa.
5. ???
6. PROFIT!!! |

I also changed from an E2 to F4 back in January. If you have all the docs needed for the F4, changing from E2 is no prob. But be warned that your alien reg. number will change. Try to ask if it'll be possible to get a certificate for change of alien reg number mailed to you along with your new alien reg card. This will make updating your bank, phone, etc accounts a lot easier. |
