| Well the guy I usually deal with is located in the second building behind ipark mall, and would be a little difficult to give you directions to him. |
If you can send me some exact directions to this guy I will go out and shoot a photo trail to this guys shop so we can finally have a concrete answer that we can give people when this question comes up on a bi-weekly basis. |

it isn't *that* hard to find the video game "tunnel." Basically it amounts to 'head north'
at yongsan station, walk AWAY from the big stairs in front of the station. You'll then walk through a tunnel. You'll have to go through another electronics dept store. Get to the ground floor and exit going north (alternatively there's another tunnel you can walk through on the 2nd floor and you'll come down some stairs). you'll walk by some pirated dvd sellers and an empty lot. When you approach the first building north of the dept store, peek to your left and you'll find the gamer alley.
i think if you look on the tech forum, there's a map that the user "Lemon" made. |

We always get descriptions of vague shops "over there somewhere". Since we have a recommendation of an actual decent shop, it might be useful to nail down directions to exactly that shop.
The directions of "over there somewhere" often come coupled with "be careful you don't get ripped off by some random guy"
not exactly encouraging for a lot of people who want to go to yongsan. |

Yeah, but it's pretty simple though. Coming out of the main electronics building and going north, it's on the left hand side and it's the ONLY underground arcade in that building. |

That still doesn't take us to the exact shop that shredgnar was talking about |

Those are pretty good directions to the video game tunnel. My guy used to work there, but has since moved to a building across the street in the basement. I think the guys in the tunnel are pretty comporable price wise, but you may have to haggle a litte, but they are certainly going to be cheaper than the vendors in Ipark.
I have also had him repair a red ringed xbox for like 20 or 40k won I don't remember exactly, but he guaranteed the repair for two months, and it has been more than 6. The computer repair guys that post on craigslist wanted 100k, and only guaranteed for one month.
If I have some time I may shoot a photo trail to throw it up on here to help people out. I really like the guy I deal with, he always gives me the lowest price first time without any hastle, and his wife/girlfriend is pregnant so he could definately benefit from an increase in business. |

Sorry. I tried my best. I assumed shredgnar was talking about the game alley. |

I forgot to mention that you should use a batch downloader like JDownloader. You just copy all the megaupload, rapidshare, etc. links to each piece of the compressed file and then Jdownloader downloads the batch. Otherwise, you have to manually download each part manually one at a time - that sucks. |

Well the guy I usually deal with is located in the second building behind ipark mall, and would be a little difficult to give you directions to him. His prices are always cheaper or equal to the other vendors. You can just find the video game vendors in the ipark mall, but they tend to try and price gouge you, so just make sure you pay around 350-370k for the total set up with two controllers.
I also noticed they have the exact same set up for sale at the Sindorim Technomart (saw an employee demoing a USB loader to some Koreans) in their video game sections, which may mean it's actually quite easy to find this kind of modified set up. ALso, Sindorim technomart is usually pretty comparable price wise to Yongson. |
heard of someone who bought a wii with 2 controllers + softmod + hd for 300K. Is this unrealistic? I started thinking about how much the wii costs... ~200K + maybe 70K for the HD, and then like 4K for the controller... doesnt seem too far fetched...
can anyone else confirm that its about 350K? |

i have a korean wii, with no mods. i am willing to softmod it in order to play Super Mario Galaxy 2, which i don't want to wait 8 more months for.
my question is this:
will Super.Mario.Galaxy.2.PAL.Wii-LoCAL run on my korean wii?
has anyone had problems either upgrading to 4.2 and/or then softmodding their korean wii?
how much will it cost me to softmod at yongsan? |

| soft modding your wii shouldn't cost more than 20k won, and yes once you soft mod your wii you can play games from any region. |
