Ireland tops my list, always friendly, helping people out, generally decent and understanding people.
USA, I've met so many friendly Americans.
Cuba, Thailand, and the Phillipines seemed friendly, but then again, it also felt they would do anything nice to get some cash. |

| Agree on the friendliness of Americans. I've heard more "Welcome to America!"s than all the other "Welcome to ___!"s combined. |

| Morocco was fantastic. France, despite the reputation, I found to be quite nice. |

Vietnam is on that list???
That's gotta be a complete joke.
Bangladesh is the friendliest place I've been to BY FAR. It is a shame Bangladeshis are extremely friendly to foreigners but often a-holes to each other (their gov't and politics there make the GOP and Dems look very civil to one another). It is a bit bizarre.
Syria and Yemen were also extremely friendly places for me (even though I'm a heretical American).

Really? I mean I enjoyed my time there but I wasn't blown away by Moroccan hospitality. |

| To all those trashing Vietnam, get off the Saigon-Nha Trang-Hoi An-Hue-Hanoi-Sapa trail. |

My friendly countries list (but not in any real order):
Ireland (I'm sorta surprised so many people agree on this, more so with the men)
England (older people)
Fiji (must be the island air)
Cuba (must be all that socialism in the water)
Mexico (I've spent a lot of time there cuz of it)
Canadians and Americans (over 25--so true--as another poster commented)
Zimbabwe (they have nothing left to lose I guess)
Germany (not so much friendly, but nice and pleasant--I could live there)
I'm sure there are others, I just can't think of them right now. |

| I lived in Morocco for three years in different parts of the country. I didn't live in the major cities. I found Moroccans to be friendly, genuine, and curious. Fantastic linguists as well. Then again, growing up speaking three languages probably helps. I think my experience was so good is because I could speak Moroccan Arabic and a bit of Berber. It certainly made things in the souqs cheaper! I'd love to go back someday. |

| The rural Chinese. As poor as they are they are truly friendly. the city Chinese, they seem to have been specially trained in rudeness. Love the backcountry villagers, they always offer you tea and often an invite to share a meal. In the cities if they smile at you check for your wallet |
