| I wonder...how often can people not understand your pronunciation? |
Many times they're just lazy. If I'm in a resteraunt how many things can I possible be talking about? I tell them to listen carefully and I just repeat it S...L...O...W...L...Y and !LOUDLY! When they finally understand me I congraduate them on their ability to understand simple Korean sentences in a controled setting: "very good, very good." |

Someone couldn't understand me one time, and it could not possibly be my fault.
Me: Kamja tang hana juseyo
Waiter: (blank look)
Me: (repeat myself)
Waiter's father to the waiter: kalbitang
Me: Kalbitang malgo (louder now) kamja tang hana juseyo.
It doesn't take a genius to figure out what they ended up serving me. |
