Looks like (in all probability) that Korea will be playing Uruguay in the next round.

Does anyone know if there will be public showings, like at the old World Cup stadiums?

I know its a Wednesday morning and there are exams going on (at least here in Daegu). I'm kinda hoping not; my kids didn't sleep at all last night and I'm pretty much a zombie today in desperate need of my eight hours! I live pretty close to the Daegu stadium, so I can hear everything even with the windows shut.

On the game, Korea must draw (assuming Greece loses or draws) to advance. A loss will actually put them out of the tournament, because they would be -2 and Nigeria would be -1 (1-0 win to Nigeria). Go Nigeria! Razz They'll definitely lose, but gotta support Africa in this Cup.

Korea can still be eliminated if they draw. If they draw, Greece draws and Greece score at least two more goals than Korea do in their match, it will come down to these two teams drawing out of a hat or whatever they do in this situation. If Greec and Korea both tie and Greece score three more goals than Korea do in their match, Korea's out.

Korea vs Nigeria...what say you?

I will go with a 2-1 win for Korea.

You mean that you hope Korea win? Right? Is that how we speculate here?Is that needs to be said? That how it works?

I think I'm catching on...

Also, if Greece and Korea both win, Greece would advance if they win by a greater margin than Korea.

If they both win by more than 3 goals, they both make it to the next round.

Argentina WON 2-0 buddy....they did not tie 2-2. Wink

Wad..sure I wanted Korea to win...my wife is Korean and i like that team. I also cheer for the UK and US in this world cup.

Hoping a team loses however...well...thats your department.

Overall this was a rollercoaster of a game. Korea had some bad defensive misshaps as did Nigeria. Nigeria missed two glorious chances, one hitting the post.

Kim Nam il had a clear blunder that led to a warranted penalty shot for Nigeria.

Still Korea moves on to the round of 16 on their own merit.

I hope they go further in the tournament, but if they do not, it is still a nice achievement to make it to the final 16.

they will face Uruguay in the knockout round. If they play the same way they did (defensively) today, they will most likely lose. Uruguays D is also far better than Nigeria's...so there will be fewer chances to score for Korea.

The team is pretty decent on the attack, defensively, they have misshaps that cost them.

Go US and Go UK tomorrow however!

Indeed and thats all Korea ended up needing as Greece lost. You cannot say both tied as the tie implies that both teams ended up with the same score right? Just saying.

Thats the way football goes sometimes in these tournaments.

No draws in the next round however....shootouts!

Nigeria should easily have won but they definitely deserve to go out after an apalling miss like that...

I was rooting for them until I saw how they were squandering all their chances.

Dissapointing for Africa. There is so much natural and superior talent on that continent but they lack the necessary professional development.
