Personally, I'd object the comment "Americans are ____" as well. |

Well, at least american artists give credit when it's due. we call it a cover. however "stealing a lyric or a phrase" by another artist is just part of life.
plagiarizing is something completely different and is unacceptable. |

should every participant in the race get a first place ribbon?
Are all countries equal?
There will always be winners and losers.
The statement about "Koreans aren't creative" or whatever was obviously not literal. |

Can't Hyori just ModEdit write one of her own songs ?
No, because Koreans are a lot of things, but original is not one of them. |

There's like 50 million south Koreans, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he didn't mean all 50 million |

Sensation over six of singer Lee Hyo-ri's songs, apparently plagiarized by Bahnus, is about to snowball as more singers and industry insiders claim to have been duped by the composer.
Bahnus, the leader of the seven-member composers' group Bahnus Vacuum, faces a string of lawsuits that extend to his management and team members. The looming legal battles are expected to be the largest in K-pop history.

Lee Hyun, who sang "Jajonshim" (pride) written by Bahnus in 2008, received complaints from another composer Kim just a few days after the song was released. Kim claimed the rhythm, melody and lyrics were identical to his creation.
When Lee Hyun asked Bahnus for an explanation, he promised to drop his name from the credits and pay a refund for the song.
Chang said Bahnus, who introduced himself as "a Yonsei University graduate who had sold numerous songs to foreign artists during his stay in the U.K," lied about other things too.
"He was not a Yonsei University graduate and the contracts he had suggested for potential song sales were also fabricated," he told a local daily. |
It seems like all you have to do is go around saying you graduated from a SKY university or an IVY League school and sooner or later, someone will hire you without bothering to check out your credentials. |

Not to say these things aren't nice, but it doesn't put Korea on top over Japan or China- countries that effectively market their cultural assets to the world. |
Korean dramas and movies do quite well internationally. |
