Hi,

I just moved here 2 weeks ago. Working at a school so I am the only foreign teacher. Also, I live in the Yonghyun area, which about 30 minutes by bus and train away from Bupyong. Does anyone live around my area? If so please let me know. It can get a bit lonely here, especially when most of the people I know are in the central city area.

Thanks guys.

Ouch!! That sucks, truly!

I know from experience I lived in Yonghyun for a year and it was absolutely hell. It was basically the Russian prostitution district...

There are probably no more than half a dozen ppl in the area, everyone I used to know left already. Basically make a good friend in Bupyeong and stay at their place every weekend, thats the only thing that helped me survive it!

I'm heading over in July, not sure which district though. My recruiter said it was down town, but we will see. Send me your email and we can meet up Smile

I lived in Incheon for a year (Mansu Dong, to be precise) - it was honestly the worst place I have lived in out of all the places in Asia I've found myself working in.

The school was great actually, nice boss, decent and smart students, but that area, wow, used to make nooses out of my toilet paper and walk around looking for ropes.

Bupyeong is ok, Bucheon is nice (depending how far away from it you are), but yeah, many places in Incheon are hard to live in, poor, blue collar workers, miserable people, horrendous nightlife - you're doing the correct thing here though trying to meet other foreigners there, easy to lose one's sanity if alone over there.

Depends where you are. Gyesan and the bus terminal are quite nice, other areas are very working class and scummy. Heavy, heavy boozing, spitting, chain smoking, and pollution are the norm.

Some folks in Songdo are looking to get together for a softball game. I'm up for it.

I'm in Incheon. I like it. It's close enough to Seoul that I can go after work if I have to (dentist), and far enough that I can have a little quiet and fewer crowds.

I read that you're marrying an Englishman in the near future; will you be encouraging him to go to a dentist? The 1st time is always the hardest.
