I heard today through a second hand source that Taco Bell had opened. Now, I know the official opening date is July 11th, but a lot of places will have a soft opening before their announced grand opening so that on the big day the staff are already in sync and aware of their duties. It would be a surprise if they just threw their staff to the wolves that will be lined up at their door July 11th without any practical experience.
So, since this info is second hand, can anyone verify or discount it ? |

That is true. Land of baptism by fire. But presumably the people opening it up; 1. have stateside experience, and 2. are bound to do things in a certain way due to franchise requirements.
So, This person may have just wandered by and thought it was open because of how complete it is. I wondered the same thing when I was up last week. But, I can see them doing some quieter weekday evening soft openings before July 11th to get staff some battlefield experience. |

This is my first contribution to the 'Taco Bell' threads.
I think all these people fascinations with Taco Bell is pathetic.
Why are you guys so desperate to eat a .50 cent taco? Who cares?
Taco Bell quietly opened? Why does the OP have this fantasy/borderline paranoia he's going to miss out on a effin taco?
Enjoy your tacos guys. |

Cuz Costco doesn't have Double Decker Tacos, and Mexican Pizzas.
Taco Bell is crap food. I think pretty much everyone will admit that. But it's familiar "home" crap food that you snuck out of school for... the 2am munches fix... etc.

I walked by yesterday. Looks finished but no menus on the wall and no one doing any cooking. Just people sitting around and a few workers.
Nachos Grande pour favor!!! |

not all Americans root for those Brooklyn bums... Steinbrenner's a bum....
Now as long as I don't have to see limeys get worked up over a chance to have bangers and mash for breakfast, some more cultural sterotypes can be put to rest.
that, and let's keep the kiwis away from the booze once in a while, especially the Maori ones.... they might be understandable once in a while! |

No, Taco Bell was what we stopped at during the school lunch period because Burger King was the only other option for a quick bite before getting high at Josh's house and coming back to school. No pleasant memories about that greasy heartburn garbage. Artificial chemically concocted plastic looking cheese drenched sand pizza served by the genital scratching unwashed hands of overweight working class ex-cons, illegals, and dropout teenage mothers in a dirty, commercial non-recyclable plastic promo covered obesity trap with a drive-thru for those too fat to get out of their car. Just what everyone wants to remember! |

I'm not sure how fantasy/borderline paranoia came across in my OP. I'm not sure how going on here to see if I could get a rumour confirmed or denied is "fascination." Desperate? Hmmm...I guess you had to somehow make an attempt to justify clicking on, reading, and then commenting on a topic in which you have such disinterest. I have a real question for you though. I have no need to explain why I would enjoy Taco Bell being open, but it does make me wonder. Why do you have an interest in what I want to eat? Can't figure that one out. |
