where are the english watching it?
i've only been here 3 weeks and the only other 2 english guys i met have been
a] some kind of english starcraft champ [had not even heard of that game until i came here, so that kinda says a lot]
and
b] some kid who didn't like football.
i don't want to live in an english bubble, but come on, it's the world cup against germany................i need to be with people who understand!!!!

Watching it in a motel room. Plenty of clean towels on hand in case we win.

having escaped the rabid sword waving jingoism of the press i feel a little calmer this year. no deck chairs through windows, no taking cans of red paint and daubing ill-formed red crosses on bmws, no tearing little flags from cars and trying to stitch them into a giant icarus-type structure on which to float our nations hopes...

There should be crowds in Itaewon, probably at Wolfhound Pub, Sam Ryan's, 3 Alley Pub, Scrooge, Hollywood, Roofers and a host of other bars.

Where there's soccer and suds, there's English people.
