I cancelled my TV completely a few weeks ago, and I've been much less annoyed day-to-day in general. (I used to watch CNN and OnStyle) Dave's is the first I've heard of Shouting Korea, and it sounds like a typical Korean media invention: mainly stupid but strangely endearing.

Looks like a bad CGI gorilla to me. But the Africa ad is just in time for the Nigeria game Rolling Eyes

Well yes, the shouting ads have been following the theme of whichever country SK is playing. It started out with old classical Greek statues in a museum before the Greece game, then it was the Argentine football players, now it is the animals out in Africa.

Can't stand those bloody adverts. I was really rooting for Korea too until I saw too much TV.

If the shoe were on the other foot, say, the Argentine team really booed or hissed at the Koreans while they were making a penalty shot - well we know how that would be portrayed in the Korean media...

"Shouting Korea" is an encouragement to be obnoxious.

You're in their country, deal with it or go home.

I actually like the slogan "Shouting Korea." It just basically says, "support our team." However, I hate the commercials. I think it's tacky to portray the actual opponents (figuratively and literally, via wildlife and uniforms, etc.). If they just showed generic opponents and didn't have the themed locations, I would be all for the ads. Does showing the opposing teams in (similar to?) their real uniforms seem tacky to anybody else?

I can't wait for the next Uruguay-themed "Shouting Korea" ads!

If Uruguay ran similar "Ullulating Uruguay" ads, I wonder how Korea would be depicted? Shiny-suited ajosshis covering their ears? Kimchi pots exploding?

Anyone else seen the last Shouting Korea ad with a surprising number of foreigners in it. It had a weepy tone to it.

True story: A few weeks ago I ended up at Homeplus and saw the red T-shirts for sale with the inscription: 'Snouts of the reds!'. I couldn't figure out what it meant until I figured it actually said "shouts' not 'snouts'. Did anyone else mistaken the word the first time they saw it? It really is a wonky 'h' if you ask me.
