Okay, so I just got the macbook pro and am trying to set everything up so my wife can use Korean websites on it. But there's a problem. Some text(not all) on Korean websites aren't coming out correctly, just boxes and lines.
Ok, I'm not an idiot, I went through every Korean character encoding I could find in Safari and Firefox, and can't seem to get the boxes to turn into Hangul.
Just so you guys can see what I mean, go to the emart website
http://www.emartmall.com/index.jsp
In the vertical menu on the left side of the screen thats in a yellow box. None of the text in that menu show up correctly. I just noticed the menu is done in adobe flash.
I can get it to work on my windows laptop but have about 1 day of experience on a mac and can't figure this out.
Thanks to anyone who can help me fix this. |

Macs are horrible if you want to use Korean websites. Korea is stuck in 2002 with Explorer 6 and refuse to see the light. One thing you may want to try is theChrome browser from Google. |

Or Opera works well also. |

I'm using a MacBook Pro (2007) running Snow Leopard + Google Chrome and I noticed those boxes for the first time. I usually have a better experience with Korean sites using my Mac as opposed to my Samsung netbook running Windows 7. I'm not 100% sure on this but it could be the site that's causing this issue, not your computer. |

It's related to korean text displayed in Flash. The other text is displayed just fine.
My wife told me that there are actually two Korean unicode sets used, one modern, and one outdated. I'm guessing My mac isn't displaying the outdated one in Flash correctly. |
