do i need a letter of leave from the director of my school to give to immo at the airport as well as giving up the arc card? if i do what does the letter need to say? does it need to be official as in go to immo with the director of my school to get it signed?
if i dont get the letter and leave at the six months mark even tho i have complied with the contract will i get a black mark on my passport meaning i wont be able to live in another country such as oz?

i would comply with my contract and give two months notice.im not into doing the midnight run.

They can't put a black mark on your passport just for not complying with a business contract. Even if you did do a midnight run they couldn't write anything in your passport. The worst that would happen would be you are put on a hagwon blacklist or an EPIK blacklist so you are not hired in this country again. If you are leaving after 6 months they can't even demand airfare.

You don't need any kind of letter for immigration unless you are quitting for the purpose of another job IN KOREA.

Two months notice is a lot, I think its normally one month. You might want to consider what is so bad about your current job that you want to leave. If they are dodgy about pay, they likely won't pay your for your last month if you do give notice. That is why people do the midnight run, not because they enjoy shafting their employer, but because they know their employer would shaft them otherwise.

Other countries you may want to live in will only be concerned if you have overstayed a visa anywhere. Understaying is not an issue.

ah. my employer has been funny about wages.

ive double checked they ask for two months in their contract i didnt ask the reason for it, at the time i didnt think id ever need to know the answer just assumed i have to give them notice by law?

what i like about my job and korea.i do like the kids thats whats keeping me here plus i think seoul is a pretty nice place to live and the other teachers ive met here as well as koreans are so friendly and welcoming.I like hearing all the different accents too. i esp like the american accent and aussie, so sexy on a man, could read me the phone book and id be happy Smile

my reasons for needing to go back home are beyond my control.if i could stay the year i would. I would like to come back at some point so a midnight run is not the best option for me but now i know more about it its not the teacher screwing over the school as i thought it was made out to be.

thanks for replying to my post youve cleared things up
