| I didn't know 'hurling' also meant to be sick. You learn something knew every day. And look..if insert the word 'gay' into Gaelic it gives it homosexual connotations. How droll.. |

| the absolutely horrific officiating!! the fact that FIFA will not allow replay. but the call against Mexico where FIFA's website sanitized the incidentn and the stadium replay clearly showed the refs mistake, then FIFA criticized the stadiums decision to show the replay. some American commentators were openly asking was this cup rigged! If not rigged terribly managed and cheats the fan and teams. Just isnt enjoyable as a sport unless they clean it up. Its not just Americans it is being questioned in the media in other countries. South Africa really tied to put on a good cup such a shame that the governing body, resists change, and can not provide proper training and oversight to officials. |

I don't even know what any of that meant, but sure if it keeps you happy and away from licking windows for a few minutes then I guess it was all worthwhile |

| I think the ref was very subtle about it but pushed the game slightly in spains favour last night. |

I still wonder if the 2002 World Cup was rigged in some way, with Korea making the semis. How was it possible for a team to previously never make it out of the group stage to get that far? (I haven't been here long enough on this forum, so I'm sure that others have said this here in the past.) This is coming from a gyopo, BTW.

As this WC is showing, a lot of the refs are either inexperienced or incompetent. I don't think the teams SK played in 2002 are the targets of the match fixers. They tend to target nations that are poor, whose federations are corrupt and players that are desperate for cash.
So I don't think 2002 was rigged, when teams like France couldn't even score a goal. It's just a combination of choking teams, with a combination of calls going SK's way and good coaching that made it possible for SK to make it to the semi-finals. |
