That's good. I'm guessing your an ESL worker. I don't like
drinking with people whose only claim to fame is they can speak their
own language and they have a heartbeat. BORING

To be fair, allowing soldiers out all night may have a negative impact on Itaewon. I grew up in an army town in England and some of the soldiers there made real nuisances of themselves. Even if 90% of the soldiers are cool, that 10% is enough to mess it up for everyone.
There's a reason why the soldiers are banned from many places in Hongdae. They act like dickheads.

As opposed to 19 year old, uneducated, cannon fodder- many of whom cant even speak their native English properly.

Personally, I'm happy that the soldiers can get out and enjoy their time here.
Considering the majority of military personnel I've met in my time here, most seem hesitant to spend too much time with their own ilk for the very reason that young soldiers are rowdy and ignorant and prone to trouble.

Yes, 22 yr old bros icing bros greek whatevers would be just as much of a problem were they to roam in packs of ten.

I've had great experiences with the servicemen I've met here and abroad. I feel the services have been represented quite well out of uniform. But all it takes is one incident... and I don't predict it will take long. Sorry.

EDIT: shoddy grammar

Well, it's not Dave's Army Cafe, so that's a fair guess....knucklehead....

And also, I agree with the other posters. Most army guys I have met (all, actually) have been cool, but there are some drunken, low-life disasters in there too. This is going to be a mess.

In their defense, some of those English learners are in the service to get citizenship. Pretty respectable in my book.

My point is there will be young, testosterone fueled males who have been previously restricted from doing something, now being unleashed. Since I have matured past that, I'm glad I'm not apart of it anymore.

Dr. Whom, I'm sorry you got all offended at my comment. Just so you know, I grew up an Air Force brat on the base. So I have no problems with the military. Don't get all high and mighty thinking you are better than ESL teachers. ESL teachers actually have to have graduated college, Military just needs to be alive. I have a teaching degree and 2 certifications, I can teach in the US if I want. I choose to be here, How about you?

So go get really drunk and hit on some Korean girls who wouldn't talk to you sober and have a blast. My guess is within 6 months that the curfew will be back in place.

Love to. Your opinion about the U.S. Army's demographics are inconsistent with the facts. Therefore it is an ignorant opinion.
