Hi all, am hoping someone here can provide me with some info on the Avalon school in Cheongju. Have done a search and found some threads seeking similar information, but nobody had replied really.
If anyone has worked at this school and has any useful information, good or bad, I'd be hugely grateful to hear it! I know Avalon is a huge franchise and school/job quality is very hit and miss but if anyone has had any experience in this particular one, please share! |

I'm in Cheongju.
I met a guy 18 months ago who worked for Avalon here and he loved it. Then again, I think he may have been a new teacher. I don't have his contact details but he did say he found the Cheongju school to be well managed.
Good luck! |

Well Cheongju is alright. It's a midsized city, in the middle of the country. Sometimes depressing, plenty to do if you like the outdoors. Cheap enough, movies, Mcdonalds, KFC, and a churches. There's a subway if you like subs.
A few movie theatres, plenty of home plus's. 1.5 - 2 hours from Seoul;. |

Thanks a million for the replies guys, it's invaluable to hear from people who know. Greatly appreciated.
snowkr, how do you like living there? Is there a good expat community and a decent social scene? Good transport links? Good gyms and stuff to pass the time on week days?
Oh, and are the women really hot, as in with five ts in hottttt??? (Thanks for that Golden Pennies, it's the stuff we all want to know but are too shy to ask!) |

Because they are so much different than other Korean girls.
Don't forget Pizza Hut and Dominos.
If you search for "Cheongju," you'll find a lot of threads about it. The expat scene is close-knit and alright. 1.5 hours to Seoul isn't bad, either.
My advice: Get a motorcycle because Daecheongno Lake, Songrisan, and Woraksan are excellent places to ride. |

Ok, I'm probably going to take an interview at this school, I've been told I can speak to other teachers before accepting it if offered the job.
Just before that, I'm bumping this thread to see if anyone can offer any information on the Avalon in Cheongju specifically and the Director/working conditions.
Thanks all! |

Hi guys!!
Me and my boyfriend work in a school only 2 buildings down from Avalon. Is this branch in Sannamdong? I think that there are probably quite a few branches in Cheongju. In this one, there are about 10 teachers I think. I have met two of them who are both leaving in August so I wonder if this is the same one!
We have been here 2 months, Cheongju is a nice city |
