Peter Orszag step down plans 2010
June 22nd, 2010
From a Democratic official source tells The Associated Press that President Barack Obamas top budget official, Peter Orszag, plans to step down later this year, the exact timing of Orszags resignation is not clear, but it might be on this July 2010.
The White House Official Budget chief Peter Orszag might become the first member of President Obamas cabinet to resign.
Since the Daily Telegraph of London spread rumors that Rahm Emanuel would quit the White House not far off in the future, many have wondered if President Obamas White House was finally ready to get started on to its post-November 2010. The budget director will be gone in July. Emanuel will leave at some unknown point.
Who is Peter Orszag?
Peter Richard Orszag is an American economist who is currently the 37th Director of the Office of Management and Budget under President Barack Obama. A former Congressional Budget Office head and blogger, Orszag has a deep understanding in economic and political.
Orszag, 41, came to Obamas government from the position of director of the Congressional Budget Office, the agency charged with providing nonpartisan analyses of economic issues to lawmakers. He served during Bill Clintons administration as an assistant to the president for economic policy and a senior adviser at the National Economic Council.

In the video, Morris poses the question if Orszag and Rahm will just be sacrificial lambs as a result of the Gaza flotilla attack scandal rather than representing a substantive change in US policy direction.
IOW, you may be right. |
