|
|
Hey I'm looking for advice on buying a backpack. Can anyone recommend brands or models?
Here's what I'm looking for:
A very versatile backpack: for hiking, long distance backing, cycling, camping, mountain biking, traveling (Anywhere from 1 night - 14 nights) etc. Weight and storage is definitely an issue.
I need it to hold at least 20-28 liters and even if fully packed, it won't seriously affect my balance on the bike.
Extra features: Preferably 2 mesh side pockets for water bottles. I don't use hydration packs. And a zipper that goes all the way down, so I don't need to take everything out to get something at the bottom.
I've tried scouring review sites but, can't seem to find anything that matches what I'm looking for.
I'm willing to spend $120 US.
Am I looking for too much? |

I have the 48 no idea about the Gregory Z30.
I like the kestrel because of heavy fabric, many side pockets and amazing reviews.
I got mine off gmarket 170,000 won and don't regret it at all. Smaller packs are lighter but the bigger back has more flexibility. Due to the compression straps it can still fit as carry on, you can put a small amount in it or large. It's my go to pack
I have three backpacs, an 80 L macpack the 48 L osprey and a no name 20 L. They all serve different purposes.
Have a look at cactus they make some really good stuff as well |

I was looking at the 28 for awhile, but it's got such a weird shape and doesn't look like it's got a frame. Unless your really careful with packing. It looks like it'll bend in half and throw out your back. lol
But, I didn't know that about the straps. Thanks for the great tip. I always figured the frames would limit how far you can squeeze it down. Geez I forgot about Gmarket. I just ordered the 32 from the states, threw in a bunch of other stuff I needed to make shipping worthwhile. |
